    Stone Welcomes Senior Hydrogeologist Michael Smith

    Stone Environmental is excited to welcome Michael B. Smith to Stone as a Senior Hydrogeologist. Within his role on Stone's Environmental Assessment and Remediation team, Smith provides senior technical expertise on integrated site characterization and remediation strategies for cleaning up hazardous and contaminated sites.

    Stone Named a Best Place to Work for 2020

    Stone's employee owners are proud to announce Stone Environmental's recognition as one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont for the second year in a row! The annual statewide survey and awards program from Vermont Business Magazine was created in 2006 to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Vermont, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. In lieu of an awards ceremony, Stone's employee-owners produced a short video describing the unique culture of our company. We're proud of this award and look forward to next year.

    Stone's Branden Martin, PE was recently honored with the Young Engineer of the Year Award at the Engineer's Week Banquet, an annual event organized by the state’s engineering societies, on Friday, February 21, 2020 in Burlington, Vermont.

    Our office building's gone solar!

    We are thrilled to show off our new solar panels, expertly installed by our friends at SunCommon! We are always eager to support the movement toward cleaner, more sustainable energy as a long-term investment in the future of our community, and the addition of solar panels at our office in Montpelier was a natural step in that direction. A big thank you to SunCommon and Steve Ribolini of RiverStation, LLC for working with us to reduce our environmental footprint and bring solar power to 535 Stone Cutters Way!

    Stone Receives Esri's Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award for "Access Montpelier" ArcGIS Hub Site

    During this year's Esri User Conference, Stone received a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award in recognition of our work on the "Access Montpelier" ArcGIS Hub Site for the City of Montpelier, Vermont. Access Montpelier is a community engagement website where the public can view learn, understand, and contribute to the operations of city government. It also allows citizens to access and use the city's information resources on their own. Click for more information.

    Stone Environmental Accepts ACEC-VT Engineering Excellence Award for Oak Street Neighborhood Project

    In June, Stone Environmental accepted an Engineering Excellence Merit Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Vermont (ACEC-VT) for an innovative green stormwater infrastructure design and implementation project for the Oak Street drainage area in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The project was completed in collaboration with lead engineers from Dufresne Group, with critical support from the Caledonia County Natural Resources Conservation District (CCNRCD) and the Town of St. Johnsbury. The Oak Street Neighborhood Project is the first in Vermont to combine neighborhood-scale green infrastructure with “gray” infrastructure to reduce combined sewer overflow events.
