Targeting and Managing Conservation Practices to Critical Areas
Mike Winchell, Environmental Modeling Systems Service Leader, presented at the third annual Esri Water Conference on Stone's high-resolution SWAT model that was developed to help inform watershed management strategies targeted to Critical Source Areas (CSAs). The model was applied to Lake Champlain’s Missisquoi Bay Watershed, which is located along the United States–Canadian border, in order to identify, locate, and rank the most important CSAs of phosphorus loads in the watershed.
